European ADRs Move Higher

American depository receipts of European stocks were trading 0.6% higher at 134.43 on the Bank of New York Mellon Europe ADR Index before midday on Friday. Gainers in Continental Europe were led by Danish pharmaceutical Zealand Pharma (ZEAL), up 3.6%; followed by French medical device maker Edap (EDAP), 3.4% higher; Paris-based genome engineering company Cellectis (CLLS), up 2.6%; and French maker of geophysical equipment CGG (CGG), 2.6% higher.

In the United Kingdom, shares of global resources company BHP Billiton (BHP) rose 2.6%; international education and media firm Pearson (PSO) rose 2.6%, British healthcare company Shire (SHPG) edged up 1.5%; while British engineering firm Amec Foster Wheeler (AMFW) also gained 1.5%. Decliners in Continental Europe were led by Netherlands-based online hotel search platform Trivago (TRVG), down 2.9%; chipset maker Sequans Communications (SQNS), 2.1% lower; and Italian furniture manufacturer Natuzzi (NTZ), down 1.9%.
